FIREFIGHTERS were called to a village near Tenbury Wells after a fire in an electricity substation spread to hedgerow.
Fire crews from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service were assisted by crews from Herefordshire when attending the incident near Burford village hall at around 4.50pm this afternoon (May 24).
Two appliances were sent to the incident, which involved an electricity substation, with a twin pole-mounted transformer found to be “alight”, with the fire spreading to hedgerow and undergrowth.
A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet, and a thermal imaging camera was later used.
National Grid also attended the scene.
