HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Huntsville Fire and Rescue crews spent Saturday evening dealing with a fire at an abandoned motel on South Memorial Parkway.
The 911 call went out just before 7:00 p.m. at the corner of the Parkway and Bob Wallace, behind the Levity Live and Parkway Scrubs buildings. Crews on the scene tell WAFF 48 that it took about 45 minutes to get the fire under control.
Witnesses say they believe the old motel has been used by local homeless people for shelter. A fire department official says there’s no sign that anyone was inside the building at the time of the fire and there are no reports of any injuries.
