On October 2, 2023, at 7:40 PM, the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department received a call regarding a fire at a train yard in central Toledo. The fire was located at the bottom of a coal container within one of the train cars. Firefighters faced challenges as the burning car was initially deep within the train yard.

Authorities had to contact the train company to move the on-fire car to a loading dock off Hill Avenue for easier access.
