A severe fire broke out at a factory in northern Vietnam yesterday, destroying 3,000 electric bikes and motorbikes, according to state media. The fire reportedly started around 7 AM at the warehouse of DK Vietnam-Japan Electric Vehicle Company in Lang Son City, sending thick smoke into the air and causing several explosions.
Additionally, over 2,000 electric motorcycle components were also destroyed in the flames.
Hoang Van Khoi, the husband of the company’s founder, confirmed the fire to AFP but did not provide further details. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a malfunction in the electrical equipment within the warehouse.
The fire began on the second floor of the parts warehouse and quickly spread to other floors and adjacent workshops. According to state-owned VTV, the DK Bike electric vehicle production facility covers over 3,000 square meters, including areas for production, assembly, parts, and a showroom for finished vehicles.
The fire has now been mostly extinguished, and authorities are investigating the cause. Initial estimates suggest that the losses from the fire could reach as high as $5 million. To prevent similar incidents in the future, authorities may strengthen fire safety inspections and regulatory measures for factories.
To enhance fire prevention capabilities, Planck Vision Systems focuses on providing superior thermal imaging technology tailored for diverse industries. This always-on technology not only detects minute temperature variations but also ensures system protection and captures every anomaly.
Such vigilance effectively minimizes risks, preempting system failures and potential threats, especially in factory environments dealing with high-risk materials.
