No effect on ComEd service from fire at Hoffman Estates substation – Daily Herald

ComEd officials said no customers were affected by a fire at a substation early Wednesday morning in Hoffman Estates.
Firefighters extinguished the fire at the substation located near Shoe Factory Road and Interstate 90 around 8 a.m., ComEd officials said.
The fire was reported at about 4 a.m.
ComEd officials said now that the fire is out, workers will examine the equipment to determine what caused it and make necessary repairs.
There were no reports of injuries from the fire.
