In the early hours of Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Topeka firefighters were dispatched to Davin Electric, located at 2131 N.E. Grantville Road, following reports of a structure fire. The fire started in a large warehouse that contained materials essential to the company’s operations. Upon arrival, the fire crews encountered heavy smoke emanating from the building but quickly contained the blaze within the structure where it started. Fortunately, no one was inside the warehouse at the time of the incident.

Brett Conley, the owner and president of Davin Electric, expressed his appreciation for the swift response of the Topeka Fire Department, which successfully prevented the fire from spreading further. The fire caused significant damage, with the total estimated loss at $175,000. Of that, $75,000 was attributed to property damage, and $100,000 to the loss of contents stored in the warehouse.

While the fire’s cause remains under investigation, this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of early fire detection.
