Planck Vision Systems: 14th Alarm Fire Ravages Sydney Factory, No Injuries Reported Amid $5 Million Loss Estimate

A massive factory fire erupted in Wetherill Park, Sydney, overnight, severely damaging a pallet factory on Redfern Street and affecting neighboring properties.

The blaze, classified as a 14th alarm fire, began around 9:15 p.m. on the evening of September 5. Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) received multiple Triple Zero (000) calls reporting approximately 400 wooden pallets engulfed in flames. 

In response, over 40 fire trucks and 150 firefighters from across Sydney were deployed to the scene. Despite their efforts, two aerial trucks and more than 40 firefighters remained on-site to fully extinguish the fire.

A HAZMAT crew was also present to monitor air and water quality. NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, and other authorities, including gas and electricity providers, assisted with the incident. 

The fire’s cause has yet to be officially determined, but preliminary investigations suggest it may have originated from an electrical fault or equipment malfunction. No injuries have been reported.

The damage is expected to be substantial, with preliminary estimates suggesting losses could reach up to $5 million. The incident underscores the critical importance of advanced early fire detection systems like Planck Vision TNC thermal imaging cameras, which are designed to detect abnormal heat conditions before a fire fully ignites, potentially preventing such extensive damage.
