TUOLUMNE COUNTY, Calif. — A hangar was destroyed in a fire at the Pine Mountain Lake Airport on Friday night, according to the Tuolumne County Fire Department.
Fire crews responded around 11:45 p.m. and found the building fully engulfed, with flames threatening a nearby residence and a second hangar. A California Office of Emergency Services strike team, assigned to the TCU September Lightning Complex, assisted.
The department said crews were able to stop the fire from spreading to the nearby structures and extinguished the flames in about an hour.
