Overnight on\u00a0September 1, drones struck several infrastructure sites in\u00a0Russia\u2019s Krasnodar region, including a\u00a0major power substation in\u00a0the town of\u00a0Kropotkin and an\u00a0area near the Ilsky oil refinery.
According to\u00a0Russian outlet Astra<\/em>, explosions were reported<\/a> in\u00a0Kropotkin, where a\u00a0330\u00a0kV\u00a0electrical substation caught fire after the drone strike.
The facility supplied power to\u00a0the regional grid and served as\u00a0a\u00a0hub for key railway connections in\u00a0the region. Parts of\u00a0the town temporarily lost electricity following the incident.
The Krasnodar regional emergency headquarters later confirmed a\u00a0fire at\u00a0the Kropotkin transformer substation, stating that no\u00a0casualties were reported and that the blaze was extinguished several hours later.
However, local residents reported heavy smoke lingering in\u00a0several districts, making it\u00a0difficult to\u00a0breathe.
Earlier, on\u00a0August 30, Ukrainian drones struck<\/a> two major oil refineries in\u00a0Russia\u2019s Krasnodar and Samara regions, causing large fires.
According to\u00a0Robert \u201cMadyar\u201d Brovdi, commander of\u00a0Ukraine\u2019s Drone Forces, the Krasnodar refinery was hit by\u00a0the 14th Separate UAV Regiment in\u00a0coordination with Special Operations Forces, while another strike reached the Syzran refinery in\u00a0Samara, a\u00a0key Rosneft facility with an\u00a0annual capacity of\u00a08.5 million tons.
