On the early morning of December 18, 2024, a devastating fire broke out at the Spruce Motor Lodge, located at 900 Lake St. in Roscommon, Michigan. The fire, which started shortly before 2 a.m., rapidly spread through the three-story building, filling the air with smoke. Firefighters from the Higgins Township Fire Department, along with deputies from the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene and successfully evacuated eight residents. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flames originated in the kitchen and quickly spread to the first floor, causing severe damage. With the help of eight fire departments from Roscommon and Crawford counties, firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control.
