ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A family pet is being hailed as a hero after three people were able to get out of an overnight house fire in southeast Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Fire & Rescue (AFR), crews responded to the fire at 216 Oak Dr. SE.
AFR says when the fire started, the family dog “woke up one of the residents inside,” which led all three family members to safely get out of the home.
No injuries were reported, according to AFR.
The fire is believed to have started in the laundry room and could be electrical in nature.
