According to the Taoyuan Fire Department, the fire spread quickly, and the driver and some passengers were unable to escape in time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon receiving the emergency call, the fire department dispatched crews to the scene and extinguished the fire by around 8 p.m. The driver, 40-year-old Mr. Ni, was found dead, and the seven passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment. Tragically, a 10-year-old boy, surnamed Ni, died after being sent to the hospital, while a 4-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy, surnamed Ni and Chan respectively, died from their injuries the following morning. Of the survivors, the wife of the driver, surnamed Chan, remains in a coma, while an 8-year-old boy, surnamed Ni, is undergoing surgery and intubation, and an 11-year-old girl, surnamed Wu, is being treated for second-degree burns. A 4-year-old girl, surnamed Chan, is fully conscious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fire&#8217;s exact cause has not yet been determined, but it is suspected that the overload of the vehicle and possible overheating of the lithium battery could have contributed to the disaster.
