On Thursday, January 4, 2025, a fire broke out at the substation switch of Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar in Seremban, which severely disrupted the hospital’s operations. The fire started at approximately 12:48 PM and was swiftly extinguished by the Seremban Fire and Rescue Department by 1:35 PM. The cause of the fire was traced back to a truck carrying construction material, which got stuck on an electrical cable, causing a cable pole to break and trigger the fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fire caused about 40% damage to the hospital’s generator room, which is crucial for supplying electricity to the facility. The estimated loss from the incident is RM500,000. Due to this disruption, the Emergency and Trauma Department (ETD) at the hospital faced significant overcrowding, as the high volume of patients was compounded by a lack of available beds. Many patients who sought care at the ETD were unable to be admitted as the wards were already full, creating a tense situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
