WINDSOR, Va. — One person suffered severe burns in a fire near Windsor on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire in the 13000 block of Shiloh Drive was reported at 1:52 p.m. The initial reports were for a shed on fire, but first responders found that the fire extended to the main residence as well.
The first responders also found that there was a patient suffering from severe burns, according to a social media post from the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department.
The fire was called under control within 30 minutes of the original report. The patient was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Crews were on scene for about two hours. Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, Windsor Volunteer Rescue Squad, Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department and Isle of Wight Fire-Rescue all responded. Carrsville Volunteer Fire Department also helped by backfilling Station 40.
