APACHE JUNCTION, AZ (AZFamily) — A person is in the hospital after being pulled from a house fire in Apache Junction early Saturday morning.
Around 4 a.m., the Superstition Fire & Medical District was called to a house fire near Broadway and Ironwood roads. It was reported that a person was trapped inside.
Fire crews arrived to find smoke coming from outside the home. They found an active fire in the back of the house and rescued someone from the back room. That person was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Firefighters extinguished the flames and prevented them from spreading to the rest of the home.
No firefighters were injured. An investigation is underway to determine what caused the blaze.
