Fire crews were dispatched to a house fire on Sunday in Audrain County.
The Mexico Public Safety Department (MPSD) responded to a home in the 300 block of Pleasant Street after a fire was reported around 12:48 p.m.
Upon arrival, crews discovered the flames coming from the kitchen.
The fire was contained and extinguished, but the kitchen suffered significant damage, while the rest of the home sustained moderate smoke damage.
A press release stated that a resident had left a pan of grease on the stove before they left the room for a few minutes.
When they returned, the area around the stove was completely on fire.
MPSD noted that no injuries were reported during this incident.
